Patagonia Travellers Hostel
We were sure of one thing: we wanted to change our lifestyle. Buenos Aires had already saturated us with its smog and hectic lifestyle. It took months, maybe a year... pricing, planning, drawing up plans, calculating costs... There wasn't enough money, but despite our fears (which we had) and all the setbacks that are not uncommon in a project of this nature, we took the plunge and headed south to build "El Patagonia."
From now on, we'll make you an accomplice in our adventure...
On October 29, 1994, we arrived in El Chaltén after a 7-day adventure on the road. There, friendly neighbors greeted us and helped us unload the truck containing everything we needed to begin building the hostel.
Our first experience as builders was with the workshop, where we lived until we finished building the hostel and moved in.
We spent a year building with our own hands and learning as we went, enduring winds and snowfall, until on December 2, 1995, we happily opened the Patagonia Travelers' Hostel.
Year after year, the hostel grew, adding more amenities and services until it became what it is today.

The balances of unpaid nights are kept in dollars, and their conversion to pesos is subject to the exchange rate on the day of payment.
